Transparency slider absent

Hello, Can anyone assist with this problem (see screenshot) that the transparency slider is not showing so I can't get the google maps up.

Is it because I am not in the area of the map? I am pretty sure no because it used to work fine when I was not in the area with other maps.

I use a Samsung A52 5g running Android 14. And latest Custom Maps as at 02/04/2025

There is no Google Map layer when using a map you have created. Only when you create the map.

As Tobias already replied to you, the Google Maps overlay is only available when you are creating the map.

I am the author of the Custom Maps app, and I created it for taking maps with me when I go hiking in areas that are not covered by cell data signal, and to be able to use better trail data than what Google Maps provides. And as Google Maps doesn't work without data, including the overlay feature was not necessary.

Of course, many users have come up with other creative uses for this app, and in many of them the overlay feature would be useful. I've thought about adding it, but it is not simple, and in recent years my work has kept me too busy to be able to add features to the app. But once I retire (I'm getting old, but retirement is still more than a year away), I have plans to add all kinds of new features and freshen the UI of the app. The overlay feature is one of them. I just don't have time to work on this free app right now. 

I need to keep working my day job to save enough money for my eventual retirement.

It would be nice if you have a time to add latest version of Custom Maps to github. Maybe someone else can add new features to your great program.
