Asthe agriculture industry grows and changes, it must be supported in new ways to ensure its future success. The Pennsylvania Farm Bill is a bold, aggressive, and necessary investment in Pennsylvania agriculture to grow opportunities and resources, remove barriers to entry, and inspire future generations of leaders within agriculture.
Small grain variety trials are conducted annually by scientists of the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center Agricultural Experiment Station (LSUAC) to evaluate grain yield, agronomic performance, and disease reaction of varieties and advanced lines. The trials are conducted at seven LSUAC research stations representative of the major soil and climate regions of the state. Entries are included in the trials based upon previous performance or at the request of the originating agency. Inclusion of an entry in the trials does not constitute an endorsement. The 2015 statewide wheat performance trials included 78 varieties (bold font) and experimental lines (normal font).
New entries in the statewide trials are tested at all locations, but may be dropped from a region the following year if they show little potential, usually late-heading lies in south Louisiana. South Louisiana consists of the Baton Rouge, Crowley, and Jeanerette locations; whereas North Louisiana consists of locations at Alexandria, Bossier City, St. Joseph, and Winnsboro. Wheat yield data were not reported at Baton Rouge due to severe storms with high winds prior to harvest.
When choosing varieties, growers should consult their local extension agents and choose varieties based on two year data within a region, not based on a single year or location. Growers should also consider specific data from the LSUAC variety trial location that most closely matches the weather and soil conditions of their farm and should avoid growing a single variety on a large acreage. Growing several varieties helps hedge against losing the entire crop to chance occurrences in weather or shifts in pathogen or pest races or virulence patterns. Yield, test weight, maturity, and disease resistance are important traits to consider when selecting varieties. If a grower plans to plant wheat early, he should avoid varieties that have a very early heading date in order to reduce the danger of freeze damage.
One way that Texas landowners can protect themselves from liability is to ensure that guests sign liability waivers before engaging in certain activities. For example, oftentimes hunters that plan to hunt on the property of another are asked to sign a liability waiver (also called a release of liability). A recent Texas case, Quiroz v. Jumpstreet8, Inc., the court addressed whether a liability waiver was valid when a plaintiff was injured at a trampoline park. The court addressed several issues, including the question of whether a release can waive claims for gross negligence.
Ms. Quiroz and her son went to a trampoline park called Jumpstreet. Prior to jumping, Ms. Quiroz signed a release form required by Jumpstreet. While jumping, Ms. Quiroz was severely injured, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.
Generally, Texas courts will enforce a waiver of liability against an adult when it is signed before the activity and is properly drafted. Under Texas law, a waiver must be express and conspicuous. Express means that the waiver must expressly state that the person signing releases the other party from any claims for negligence. Further, the conspicuous requirement provides that the waiver may not be hidden in the fine print of a contract, instead, it should be clear based on the title, size of font, use of bold lettering, etc. that the person signing the document is signing a liability waiver. [For more information on that, please read this prior blog post.]
A defendant can claim protection of a release only if the release refers to him by name or with such descriptive particularity that his identity is not in doubt. Here, the release referred to all Jumpstreet, LLC and its entities, including all parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, assigns, employees, etc. Jumpstreet, LLC was dissolved in 2011, but testimony made clear that the defendants were the same owners and the parent company of Jumpstreet, LLC. Thus, the court found that the identity of the defendants was never in doubt. The court rejected this argument.
The release was two pages long, but it contained bold headings and capitalized font. It warns that the persons signing are giving up legal rights and instructs them to read the document carefully. There was an additional waiver and release warning right above the signature box. The court held that this release was not ambiguous.

AGRITECHNICA is the showcase of the global agricultural engineering industry and a forum for the future of plant production. At the world's leading trade fair for agricultural technology, organized by DLG, all the leading companies in the industry present their innovations in Hannover-Germany 2019.
I took part in this fair as a visitor invited by Canamek. Canamek is a company that is seriously sensitive to design and user experience for its agricultural land levelling products. I am working for this company as a consultant for 3 years and during this time, we tried to investigate the role of industrial design in the agriculture industry.
here is the case, many designers and technical people think that there's no room for design in agricultural product. most of them should be designed by rough single bend sheet metals and the colours and signs are just enough to meet the standards since the products resources are fundamentally expensive and the farmers do not pay for the appearance (also this reasoning is prevalent that agricultural machines are not so interactive with humans so they do not need to be designed in an appealing way). but my observations at least in this trade fair and #Bauma Munich-Germany 2019 shows something else. what do you think?
I do not want to go through the design details of this trade fair. since the design is a visual and emotional phenomenon, I end up my words by only showing you some cases that industrial design and UX is totally bold in them. although, this is my insight; what brings the people from this industry to design, is the competitive market and the semantic aspect of design in order to show quality and novelty to the buyers.
Howard County is a bold leader in modern, sustainable agriculture. Since taking office in December 2018, we have launched several initiatives and programs to preserve farmland and promote our agricultural communities. My proposed Fiscal Year 2025 budget builds upon those investments and demonstrates our commitment to agriculture, to our farmers, to our farmlands and our rural west.

Welcome to the MDPI style guide. Its purpose is to offer guidance and advice to authors intending to publish in an MDPI journal. Topics covered include formatting and conventions specific to MDPI and some tips for how to improve clarity and writing style.
This is a guide, not a set of instructions. English is a flexible language and most of its rules can be broken under the right circumstances. Our aim is to communicate the latest scholarly findings in a way that is accessible and readable. Most of the guidelines here are to aid clarity and precision. Where rigidly following this guide does not achieve that goal, exceptions can be made.
The front matter covers parts of the article that usually appear at the top of the first page and give general information, including the title, abstract, journal name, and information about the authors. The format is standardized and much of it is added and formatted by the publisher.
All articles are assigned a type, depending on the content of the article. This is useful to readers, informing them of the style of content to expect (original research, review, communication, etc.) and for indexing services when applying filters to search results. This section details the most common article types, although is not exhaustive. Editors have the final say on which type should be assigned to a published article. Scientists are encouraged to publish their experimental, theoretical, descriptive studies and observations in as much detail as possible so the results can be reproduced. Manuscripts that are not comprehensive may be found not suitable for peer review.
