Hey everyone, sorry I'm a bit late on writing a new post.

On Friday I began to do the exercises more independently. Instead of
having Beth or Patti help me elognate, I can do it on my own. I'm
becoming more aware of where my body is in space. In other words, when
I'm not doing my exercises and my body is no longer in the correct
position, I've noticed that I collapse into my curve way too much.
We've had habbits like slouching or not sitting in good posture
throughout our lives, and it's hard to break these bad habbits.
However, little do we know that when we have scoliosis and we slouch
we're doing much more than just collapsing into our curves, we're also
causing severe damage to the discs in our backs. How are they becoming
damaged? Well, when we slouch it puts pressure on the discs. And when
these discs are completely squished it's called a "herniated disc" and
pain will be consistant. One of the best things about this clinic, is
how much education you get from here. I am taught all about the
development of my curves, how my pain is caused, and what to do to
prevent it.

The more I work on doing these exercises, the better I get at it.
Theres an exercise called "Pendulum" and I go on the top bar and
swing. On the first day I was capable of only doing 4 or 5...now I'm
up to 30. I can breath longer and elognate better too! Monday I'll be
working on doing more exercises on my own, so I'll let you all know
how that goes.

Hey Robin, sorry I wasn't able to answer you sooner, but I do not hang
upside down. To think about it, I am not aware of any exercises that
require someone to hang upside down on the bars. With my arms I grab
onto the highest bar, and swing my body (while keeping it in
alignment) like a pendulum. However, this exercise does not apply to
everyones curve(s).
Hope that answers your question.
