Hi Ladies,

Lisa and I went to your last curvygirls meeting and it was nice to meet you all.  Lisa just started wearing her brace at the time.  she was doing ok, but she seems to have a lot of discomfort even not wearing the brace. She says she feels twisted, her ribs and back hurt.   Did any of your girls have this problem?  What did you do to help the discomfort?  What ever advice you can give us will be helpfuul.

Looking forward to seeing everyone  at this months meeting.

Thank you,
Ursula LePera

Hi Ursula-Amy London here, Anna Ben-Hur's mom. I'm sorry your duaghter
is sufferinf discomfort, it's such a scary thing to learn that you
have this condition. Have you tried any yoga or stretching? There is
an amazing place in NYC in the W 20's called Yoga for Scoliosis. I
highly recommend it. There is a teacher there, Allison (I forget her
last name, but she is one of the main teachers, I think it is Allison
Steele.) We had a couple of private lessons with her, and it really
helped. They are there on Saturdays, it's worth the trip in. Thre is
also a DVD, Yoga for Scoliosis, very helpful.

My duaghter Anna is 12 1/2, and has had the brace for almost a year.
She is doing well with it, it is helping her, and we are dteremined
not to get the surgery.

Best of luck with everything, also, can your dr adjust the pads inside
the brace? That might help, too.
