My Story/ Curvy Girls in Arkansas!!!!!!!!!

Hey! My name is Kala and I think is such an amazing thing! I'm 14 and
have 2 titanium rods down my spine. I have had back pain all my life
and when i was 7 or 8 I got checked for scoliosis. Everything was fine
and they just said that I just had weak muscles. The pain continued
and got worse. In the 6th grade one day I woke up and I couldn't move.
My back was in so much pain!! The slightest movement was awful. I went
to the doctor and he said that we were most likely looking at
scoliosis. I was shocked. He took an X-ray and there it was scoliosis.
So we made appointment at Children’s Hospital. They couldn’t get us in
for 6 months!! In April we went and did the whole routine with X-rays
and stuff like that. When my doctor got in he said well your scoliosis
is weird. What? He told us instead of an S curve I have 3 curves. One
at the top of my neck (50 something degrees), one in the middle (40
something), and one in my lower back (30 something). So a brace wasn’t
an option. Surgery. So 6 months later I had spinal fusion. They left
the lower curve but I still don’t have to use a brace. My surgery was
awful!!!! It was bad!! They went up too far and now I have a pinched
nerve that makes both my elbows numb. I have the worst nerve pain!! My
rod sticks out my neck behind the skin. That hurts too!! I was out of
school for a whole semester and wasn’t able to get out of the house
for that long either. Now they want to go back in and take the top off
my rod. REALLY!! Couldn’t they do that while they were in there! Let’s
just say my experience with scoliosis was bad. If anyone has any
questions about my story or about your own ask them. I really want to
start a Curvy Girls in Arkansas. It would be amazing to talk to girls
who understand.
