Hi my names Brianna I am 16 and i live in california. Im a junior in
high school and i found out i had scoliosis when i was in 6th grade.
For the first year i was wearing my brace at night and doing
everything i was supposed to but as i got older i worn it less and
less and for the past 3 years i havent worn it because 1.) it looked
weird under my clothes and i cared what i looked like and 2.) i was
unconfertable. The docters say after you hit puberty it is supposed to
slow down a little bit but mine didnt. Now i find it hard to breath
sometimes but i still push my self to do sports and active things to
keep my lungs healthy. I am scared to go to the doctors now because i
dont want them to tell me to have surgury and i am terrified of them
cuteing me open. I know two other girls in my city who have scoliosis
but they dont have it as bad as i do so they could never relate to me.
Not many people notice my back is not strait untill i point it out so
i have just gotten used to it but i still feel my self think people
are looking at me weird when i bend over to strech in P.E. I hope i
can find some people who relate to me here...im really looking forward
to it! =)
