Hi there, friends!

I hope you're all doing well!

I've had someone contact me who is interested in doing a yoga teacher training.  She is a curvy woman and would ultimately like to teach other curvy folks.  I'm wondering if you know of any 200hr yoga teacher trainings that are size-accepting and conducive to her goals (they don't have to be focused on curvy people just be welcoming and give her a good foundation to build on) in any of the following areas:

Omaha, Des Moines, Denver, Kansas City or Milwaukee.

Thanks in advance for your help!  Hope you have a lovely week!

Warmly,
Anna

Hi lexi, I don't know of a training in  toronto but there is a curvy yogi friendly training in winnipeg. It takes place in 3 ten day sections.

You may also want to check with curvyyoga teacher tina veer in toronto about training.

Hi Lexi,

No problem.  I did my training with Source Yoga Studios http://sourceyogastudios.com/204.775.2871/teacher/
It was fantastic. Their website is not great....but they do respond fairly quickly to emails. You can contact Dillon at in...@sourceyogastudios.com

I teach a class called Yoga for Every Body and both Dillon and Liane (husband and wife owners of Source) were and continue to be extremely supportive of the class and approach I took to teaching.

Good luck!

Hello Everyone!
This is Lanita is San Diego.  I have been training plus-size teachers, and teachers who wish to work with larger and neglected bodies for over 15 years, and have taught over 11,000 classes and private sessions. My teacher training is for 200 & 500-hr certifications.
I train in 6-7 day segments.  Each segment is 50 hours of Teacher Training Units.  4-course = 200hr RYT, or 6 courses = 300/500 RYT.  You can take as long as you wish to complete the course, or you can finish it in 2-years.  My next training is coming up in February.  I only accept 7 students at a time, and I already have 4 signed up, so if you are interested in learning more, please give me a call.  I also teach at Feathered Pipe Retreat Center now each year (September 1-7, 2012) where we can have up to 20 students and/or teachers.  My training is much more than standing active yoga.  It is also yoga therapy, and specific poses and modifications for large and super-size bodies that is not being taught anywhere else.  I always teach to the lowest level in the room UP to traditional, opposite of how most classes are taught.  Thinner bodies learn to fit into our our style, and even find GREAT benefit from it.  Deceptively deep, delicious yoga.  I welcome anyone that is interested to begin with one week, and continue with me if this yoga deeply connects with you.

I am attaching a link about Feathered Pipe Ranch.

Many blessings to you all.
