As communities across Colorado plan for the America 250 - Colorado 150 commemoration, a free print-on-demand exhibition program is now available to help local organizations host their own history experiences. Developed as a community extension of Moments That Made US, currently on view at the History Colorado Center, the program provides ready-to-use exhibition materials that libraries, schools, museums, cultural centers, and civic organizations can download, print, and install in their own spaces.
The print-on-demand exhibition includes a modular set of professionally designed panels organized around five core themes drawn from the Declaration of Independence: Created Equal; Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness; Free and Independent States; Consent of the Governed; and We Mutually Pledge. Communities can display the full exhibition or select individual panels based on their space and programming goals. Customizable templates are also available, allowing organizations to incorporate local stories, people, and historical moments alongside the national narrative. An implementation guide, design files, and templates are now ready for download, with printing and mounting as the only required costs.
This community-focused model removes traditional barriers such as shipping, scheduling, and exhibition fees, making participation accessible for organizations of all sizes, from large institutions to small volunteer-run sites. The signature initiative reflects the America 250 - Colorado 150 Commission’s commitment to statewide participation and equitable access as Colorado prepares to mark both 150 years of statehood and the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Organizations interested in hosting the exhibition can access materials, sign up for updates, and explore planning resources at Am250CO150.org.
