Role Summary
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot databases including MySQL, Redis, and PostgreSQL across on-premises and AWS environments.
Manage and implement database replication solutions to ensure High Availability (HA) based on application and business requirements.
Administer and optimize AWS managed database and infrastructure services such as RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, S3, and EC2.
Automate routine operational tasks and infrastructure provisioning using tools like Ansible and AWS CloudFormation.
Design, implement, and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions using CloudWatch, PMM, Datadog, and MonYog to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Perform daily database administration activities including maintenance, health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure high reliability and availability.
Collaborate with application development teams to design efficient database schemas, optimize complex SQL queries, and improve overall database performance.
Work closely with DevSecOps teams to ensure timely implementation of security patches, upgrades, and compliance standards.
Develop, implement, and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss.
Generate ad-hoc reports, analyze database metrics, and provide operational insights to internal teams and stakeholders.
Support Linux system administration activities related to database infrastructure.
Develop and maintain Shell scripting or Python-based automation solutions for database and infrastructure operations.
Required Skills
Strong experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis database administration.
Hands-on experience with AWS services including RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, S3, and EC2.
Experience with database replication, backup, recovery, and High Availability architectures.
Proficiency in Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, Shell scripting, or Python.
Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, PMM, Datadog, and MonYog.
Good understanding of Linux administration and system performance tuning.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and performance optimization skills.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
