I am reaching out today to be sure you are able to announce out to your organization about the
Westracks free shuttle service to provide car free access to some of our mountain parks from any RTD stop.
GreenLatinos Colorado has been part of the
Westracks vision from the very beginning because we understood that transportation equity and environmental justice are deeply connected. For years, we pushed for a system that would help connect communities, especially communities historically left out of outdoor access opportunities, to Colorado’s parks, cultural spaces, and public lands.
Westracks reflects years of advocacy, coalition building, and community conversations. GreenLatinos Colorado was proud to help elevate the importance of public transit access as both a climate solution and an equity issue. This launch represents what can happen when communities help shape transportation systems from the ground up.
How it works is quite easy. Shuttles run daily on the weekends and holidays every 15 minutes from the last stop of the W-line in Golden, Colorado. They provide free round trip service to several trailheads at mountain parks including Red Rocks, Dinosaur Ridge and even to downtown Morrison; from 9 am -5pm starting Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.
We encourage you to share this information to your communities and if you are able, to join us this Saturday for special opening ceremonies.
GreenLatinos sign up for Saturday.
We hope to see you there!
