Denver Arts & Venues: Shape the Future of the Mural
Denver Arts & Venues is partnering with renowned Chicano artist Emanuel Martínez to create a new mural for the newly constructed bathhouse at Mestizo-Curtis Park Pool. The new work will honor and replace Eyes on the Park, a long-standing mural set to be deaccessioned at the end of this year.
On Tuesday, July 22 from 6:00-7:00pm, Denver Arts & Venues invites community members to a special Community Conversation at the mural site. This gathering is a key moment to help shape the future of this space. Together, we’ll reflect on the legacy of the original mural and define two guiding goals for the new artwork—goals that reflect the values, stories, and vision of the neighborhood.

Denver Arts & Venues se ha asociado con el renombrado artista chicano Emanuel Martínez para crear un nuevo mural para la recién construida caseta de baños de la piscina de Mestizo-Curtis Park. La nueva obra honrará y sustituirá a Eyes on the Park (Ojos en el parque), un antiguo mural que se retirará a finales de este año.
El martes 22 de julio, de 6:00-7:00pm, Denver Arts & Venues invita a los miembros de la comunidad a una conversación comunitaria especial en el sitio del mural. Esta reunión es un momento clave para ayudar a dar forma al futuro de este espacio. Juntos, reflexionaremos sobre el legado del mural original y definiremos dos objetivos rectores para la nueva obra de arte: objetivos que reflejen los valores, las historias y la visión del vecindario.
