Did You Know?

Mulch retains soil moisture, suppresses weeds, keeps soil and plant roots cool, prevents frost heaving in winter, and makes a garden bed and landscape look more attractive. The mulch at our giveaway is made from tree branches and holiday trees residents recycled through Denver’s Treecycle collection program.

Compost is a nutrient-rich soil amendment made from decomposed organic material. It can be added to soil to help plants thrive, while reducing water and fertilizer needs! This compost was created from food scraps and yard waste collected by Denver’s Compost Collection Program.
