Wolverine Bats For Theatre
Hollywood star Hugh Jackman is part of an initiative "prioritizing intimate, affordable theatre, " according to a report by Adrian Horton in The Guardian. He co-founded, with director Ian Rickson and producer Sonia Friedman, a company called Together, the starting point of which "was to not have a filter between [actors] and the audience, and for there to be a real connection, an intimate connection," said Friedman, in the story. "It's a partnership spiritually, creatively, artistically, and we're all there to support one another."
Jackson said in the piece "Together was created with the idea of community – removing barriers so that everyone is able to participate in theatre. Making sure that everyone can see the plays no matter who they are. Also, encouraging experiences of theatre that are electric, elemental and relatively simple in terms of bells and whistles. Material that goes right to the heart."
