Dear Reader,
Some Theatre Discipline, Please
Anyone who has had their theatre experience rudely disturbed by a trilling cell phone, or a fellow viewer talking loudly, would appreciate a theatre in the UK, launching a poster campaign to combat "worsening" audience behaviour, like phone calls during shows and audience members singing along with performers.
Chief executive Michael Ockwell of the Mayflower Theatre, said problems had escalated since the Covid pandemic, according to a report in bbc.com.
Tasha Finch, the theatre's head of customer operations, said: "Customer behaviour not only within our industry, but in all walks of life is getting more and more challenging."
Which is true of our country too. And a little discipline and consideration towards others won't hurt. The price of a ticket, however high it may be, does not excuse bad behaviour.
