At the WAR room this Tuesday, we'll be joined by Michael Harris. Michael is a person who has been personally affected by the registry and has many close friends who are also negatively impacted by it. He began his challenges to the registry more than 25 years ago while incarcerated. Upon release, he contacted the person running Indiana RSOL, now Indiana Voices, a NARSOL associated group and formerly became involved in advocacy today running that organization. He is also a member of WAR and CURE / SORT - Wayne Bowers organization. He serves on the BOD of Indiana CURE and LITE Recovery Hub.
His efforts toward helping both himself and others lead him to B4U-ACT an organization that brings therapists, researchers and MAPs (minor attracted persons) together to find the best help for people struggling with sexual attraction to minors. Solutions that help them live in truth and dignity while doing no harm.
Michael is also a filmmaker and believes that one of the best ways to change the generally hostile public perception of Registrants is through the medium of story and the arts.
This Tuesday, Michael will give us a short explanation of B4U-ACT, what it is and what it does. Then he'll give a short presentation called Finding Effective Therapy and how to find it.
