Good Afternoon,
I just got a call from another offender on the registry who was contacted through his work by an alleged police officer who left a message for him to call him back immediately. The caller said he was non-compliant and there were warrants out for his arrest. He called back, and the call was answered by an alleged police officer who transferred him to another alleged police officer, who then proceeded to run him through the standard phone scam to go to CVS and get two money cards for $500.00 each. In a panic, he did exactly as instructed and only after the fact realized he had been scammed out of $1,000.00. He said they knew so much about him, he had never gone online to see all the information the registry reveals about those listed.
Please pass this along, as it may save others from falling for this sort of scam.
