CURE friends, Ann and John, and I marched in the Champaign Labor Day Parade as a part of Champaign County Indivisible's group. There were many hundreds, and possibly thousands, of onlookers stretched along the .6 mile route. The most remarkable thing happened. When people saw us, the Indivisible group, they began cheering and vigorously applauding. This was not some effort to be polite. The crowd was enthusiastic and clearly showing their support for the resistance.
I dare say all of us in the Indivisible group were touched. I was stunned. Far more than half the crowd wanted to signal their thanks and encouragement to those of us working to resist the fascist in Washington. I couldn't get over it.
So if any of you feel alone in the endeavors of CURE, please be sure there are many in this community who applaud your efforts to advance the cause of the resistance.
