Olson states, “One of the most comforting — and corrosive — lies in modern politics is this: ‘Only the other side has gone too far.’ It’s false. And if we keep believing it, it’s going to cost us everything.” He discusses the psychology behind extremism, provides some personal reflections, and also lists 3 things you can do today to push back on extremism.

I have a question for the secretary.” Senator or not, he did not behave in a way that suggested a threat to the secretary. The Department of Homeland Security said Padilla “chose disrespectful political theater and interrupted a live news conference” and claimed that he “lunged” toward the secretary.” Richardson provides further details in the rest of her post.
