A year ago, President Trump halted the Afghan resettlement program
for people who assisted U.S. troops. Since then, Afghans who
assisted our troops and their families have been languishing in a
Qatar camp. Their hope is to be sent to the U.S., but the regime
want’s them sent to Afghanistan or the Democratic Republic of the

The Detention Reengineering Initiative, aka Steven Miller’s plans
for mass detention using existing buildings, is encountering
opposition. Communities in states continue to fight back. Here
is the twisted logic that Miller is using to prevent full
environmental and impact reviews just to fulfill his cruelty …
“The Department of Homeland Security was back in court Thursday —
in New Jersey, this time — defending the same argument it has now
made in three states: that buying a warehouse and retrofitting it
for detention does not trigger the environmental review that
federal law typically requires.”
