Here are some thoughts about the 4th of July Parade.

Basic Information

Line-up information. We are supposed to get the Parade Lineup information tonight.  We will send this out as soon as it is received.

Meet-up Place.  If you plan to be in the parade, meet at Lot E-14 State Farm Center around 10:30 am.. Parade kicks off at 11:05.  This is the lot that is West of the State Farm Center.  There are entrances on 1st Street and South Oak St. between Krby and St. Mary's Road.  We assume if you come down Kirby or St. Mary's to the parking lot there will be people or signs to point you in the right direction to drop people off.

Weather

We have no idea if there are plans for what to do if it rains.  Nevertheless, it will be hot.  Wear hats, sun screen, and light-colored clothing.  If you've got one of those tiny, portable battery-operated fans, bring it to use.  (Today we checked the Champaign-Savoy Walmart location, and they appear to have them as low as $7. We also found them at Meijers, Home Depot, and maybe Target.)

Hughes' car which will be in the parade will have bottled water.  They will also have some home-made ice packs (e.g., sandwich bags filled with ice) for the marchers to use, as needed. You're also welcome to bring a personal  water bottle.

Other Things To Bring.

Bring signs, drums, bells, candy, flags, and/or any other patriotic items.  If you're bringing candy to hand out, be sure it's individually wrapped and not made of ingredients that will melt (if that's possible!)  :)

To Do List & Questions for you

1.  WEAR YOUR CURE T-SHIRTS & BUTTONS!

2.  If you plan to be in the parade, LET US KNOW. Send email to: cu.resista...@gmail.com

3.  We will have some extra signs.  These will be available that day at our meet-up place.

4.  For inspiration read Bea Pavia's "It's Time to March for Joy" in the News-Gazette.  https://tinyurl.com/45ctb6yz

We're looking forward to being with you all this Saturday, July 4th!
