Friends:
All of a sudden I am getting a lot of interest from community organizations in partnering with Spokane Historical. The local parks foundation wants to support our tour of the city parks and maybe push it out to the county parks. The regional health district want to know what it would take to get us to add historical walking tours of some disadvantaged neighborhoods. I have a meeting next week with our regional utility district.
My first thought is to offer them opportunities to sponsor Spokane Historical content for a fee. Just as many museum exhibits have a wall of sponsor acknowledgements as you leave.
Are any of you doing anything similar? How do you make it work, on a technical level?
We tried to something like that with our local museum, the MAC, with a digital supplement to one of their exhibits. We created a tour within our site and credited the MAC at the beginning (
here). Then for the individual stops we added a subheading for each: "MAC 100 Stories: A Centennial Exhibition – Story XX" and used one of the museum logos for the first image.
How have all of you dealt with adding sponsors to your work?
Thanks,
