Yes , the black ones were the early 170g (if I remember correctly) that preceded Discraft coming on.
Ok , here's a story , around '75 after graduating I spent a lot of time at Lower sproul. I met up with
Vincent Malafronte ( look him up, early distance champ at World Fribee Games). He would freestyle with the bigger discs, they would spin longer. Anyways he was working with Wham-O on that disc, and gave me one. They were cool , no stamping , no silk screen , just clean smooth plastic. But I used that one until it died a proper disc death.
BTW, Vince Malafronte distance record throws ( with 145gs I beleive) legitimized the forehand though , I think it was highly poo-pooed at the time,
