Lady 'Swains and Gents,

One last reminder. The weight lifting clinic is tomorrow night (Tuesday 10/08 and Tuesday 10/15) at 6:30 PM. We will spend about an hour working on Olympic lifting movements that are chosen to compliment and support our rowing strength. For those of you who were concerned, this is not a crossfit class. This is pure and simple Olympic weight lifting training that is being instructed by the coaches of the crossfit gym I belong to. They are very knowledgeable and have been incredibly supportive of our team already, and have a large weightlifting space and enough equipment to fit us all in. If you are serious about getting in shape and doing every thing possible to get into a top boat (either Novice or Varsity), I highly encourage you to attend. I would strongly bet that almost all of the top club programs in the nation (and absolutely the varsity ones) have a weight lifting program to compliment their rowing. Working the glams is all well and good, but at the end of the day, having knowledge about how to train with weights that will directly benefit the muscles we utilize to row will be very beneficial.

The class costs $20. If you are interested but money is a problem, please speak with me and we may be able to figure something out. There are 24 spots in the class. Coxswains, at this point if you are interested you are more than welcome (and encouraged) to participate. Wear appropriate attire and footwear.

If you would like to participate, bring your money to practice tomorrow. Cash is preferred, but we can make a check work (bring it blank and we can make it out to the gym).

We will be meeting at Flatirons Crossfit (3640 Walnut St  Boulder, CO 80301) at 6:20 PM so that we can start class promptly at 6:30. For those of you on campus, the Hop makes a stop at 30th and walnut, which is about a 2 minute jog from the gym. See attached map.

Any questions, please let me know.

Go Buffs,

Coach Francklyn

Just in case their is any confusion, the two classes cost $20 total - not $20 a session. The first session will cover the moves and work on the basics, the second course will be fine tuning, adjustment, and probably an increase in weight.
