Occupy: Global Noise and Beyond

Occupy will be presenting the numerous activities planned for the autumn. Come along to find out how to take part and to have your say on what you think our next steps should be.

6.00-7.00pm
Traveller Solidarity Network

An introduction to the Fight for Sites campaign, and what the fight for Traveller’s rights has to do with cuts, housing and the Tories.
Robin Hood Tax
Dispelling the myths of the financial transaction tax and what it could mean for the UK.

7.00-8.30pm
ACTION Atomic Weapons Eradication and Campaign Against Arms Trade

What's the connection between resisting cuts and resisting the £25bn replacement of Trident/£700mn annual public subsidy of the arms trade? Planning anti-militarist direct action.

Friday 12 Oct

2.00-5.00pm
Film Screening: Catastroika & ArtProtesters

Screenings by London Against Troika Portuguese Group in London, followed by an open debate with representatives from local brances of other southern European anti-austerity groups, including Democracia Real Ya, 15M London, and Wake Up!

6.00-7.00pm
Austerity and Violence Against Women

How women under economic and physical attack are reclaiming their future – with Sarah Day, caseworker with women surviving domestic abuse.

7.30-9.30pm
Social Crisis discussion group

Open discussion on the crisis and capitalism: Capitalist crisis (not Tory nastiness) is the problem and overthrowing capitalism (not just taxing the rich) is the solution.

8.00pm onwards
Open mic, improv, & poetry against the cuts

Including Claire Faucet, Danny Chivers, Slam the Cuts.
