Communications Ministry Team Leader Announced

6 August 2009---The Executive Committee of the Ministry Council
announced today the selection of Mark J. Davis as the new
Communications Ministry Team Leader. “Recently retired from NIKE,
Mark has a God-given gift as a writer and a profound love for our
denomination,” said Director of Ministries Edith Gholson. “Mark
describes himself as a ‘dyed in the wool’ Cumberland Presbyterian who
has expressed a call to collaborate with all kinds of people, drawing
out their best ideas, distilling them to significantly enhance our
communications, both electronic and printed.”

The recently revised job description for the Communications Team
Leader is very ambitious and the Ministry Council affirmed their
belief that Davis is certainly up to the task. In addition to his
expertise in Information Technology and Project Management, Mark has
served the as a member of the Board of Trustees of Memphis Theological
Seminary and as an Elder.

Mark is a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church Germantown and is
the son of Rev. Harold and Willene Davis.

Mark will join the Ministry Council team beginning August 17.
