Sound lock actually works but not as intended, high sound peaks are so low on the peak bar(lower than dialog sounds unusally) so when i lock the bar, it will lower my whole volume. I will try the filter you told me about. Thanks a have a nice day
You're welcome.
Good thinking switching your driver between stereo and surround. You might try to use stereo and upmix it to surround by using the Peace Effects panel. Just to see (well hear) what it does for the sound of a movie. Of course by doing this you lose the surround feeling of the movie.
A nice day to you to.
Hi all. I've noticed along with the new sound on IOS10, there's a very quiet lock sound when you hit the power button. I don't think there's a way to turn this up, I'd like it there was. If you turn off Voice over, and click the power button, it's a lot louder then when speech is on. It makes some sense, voice over is probably reading, so the sound is quieter. I just would like to be able to hear it better then always double checking the screen is locked. I hope this makes some sense, I thought there was a sound effects volume somewhere? btw, this has nothing to do with audio ducking, which personally Idisable every time, I'm not a fan of it. :) thanks for any help.
Hi. personally i don't like always hearing confirmation, screen locked, if the sound is enough for me. I agree if the option were to exist, i would personally turn that off as I'd rather not have my phone up in a noisy place, set it down and pusht he button to hear "Screen locked!!!!" It's just me though. Actually I did also submit feedback, I asked if maybe they can either let you turn up the volume of that sound, and other voice over sound effects if you want, so you don't have to always hear the loud clicks when the volume is up, but also have haptick feedback when you lock the screen. To my knowledge, this was part of the beta, I don't know why they took it out, as i'm sure for someone who's deaf blind, this would be fabulous for them. Here's hoping something happens.
For the little chirp, sometimes that's all you hear when you click the power button, but it isn't to bad for me. remember about the new lock sound, everyone has it, not just you. I don't mind either sound, but yeah I guess you could pick either if you wanted. Maybe others should submit feedback enhancement requests for these things, I did my part. :) Glad I got a positive discussion going.
Hello all. Just wanted to touch on something @Jeff bright up. He isn't crazy about the chirp, again this might be where if they don't let you pick it, you can turn down the sounds, that being one of them. I also locked my phone four times. twice, it clicked, chirped. The other two, it clicked, nothing was chirped, so I'm not quite sure what's up. Just thought i'd let you all know.
Hi Jeff. do you mean the click sound you hear if you put the phone right against your hear and push the sleep wake button? If yes, this is the sound I would like the volume increased or at least user difinable. As it is, turn off voice over, andpush the button, you'll hear a vast improvement on the volume. Turn voice over on again, and you'll get the barely audible click. Maybe the "chirp" both of us are talking about is the same thing? :) I'd be fine with how things are just increasing that sound volume, or as I said disabling the screen locked feature as ifind that particcularly annoying. If i have some form of audible feedback, I'm good. :) here's hoping Apple might hear us. or at least others besides you and I write to them. Have a good one.
The Churp is only while locking for Voiceover I think it took the place of saying screen lock for some reason. However if the lock sound was the better IOS9 lock sound it wouldn't have to say screen locked either as the lock sound would be loud enough.
The chirp is an extra sound that replaces VoiceOver saying screen locked. personally, I love it and don't think it should change at all. As to wether it could be louder? Possibly but I don't mind it how it is now either.
Hi,
I love the chips. every time I lock my phone at night, I love hearing the chirp. I usually turn speech off, then lock my phone. Apple has finally done something to make it easyer for users to lock the phone. I love both the new lock sound, and the extra voiceover chirp.
Hi i think that it's grate there are a new sound, but like others i think that this sound is week and it does very hard to hear in pablick places. i think at wee needs to ask from apple to increes the sound and in genaraly all sounds of VoiceOver
Hi all.
What I do is, first, triple click the home button to turn VO off. Next, press volume up key to get the loudest volume possible and lock the screen once. Then use touch ID to unlock the screen, then triple click to turn VO back on. Finally, turn the volume down again, and you should have the lock sound volume on a similar level with VO. Note, locking the screen when VO finishes talking or when the talking is paused would give you great effect. This also temporarily solves the problem of alert sounds being sometimes too quiet.
Hope it helps!
I turn VO sounds off. I have found that, for me, it is faster not to have the VO sounds on. In fact, I find most of the sounds drive me a bit nuts. This is the same for my Mac as well. I guess that you can call me a bit silly. I know I have been called worse things. Oh, I like the new stock lock sound.
Thank you so much. I am not tecky at all. I tried the first one and it worked. The only problem I see is that the volume icon near to the wifi bar is red and it has a circle in front that depicts locked . Is that normal and leave it alone.
Hello Mike2013. I understand that you've encountered some sound problems after upgrading your Pavilion ZV6131 to Windows 8.
I took a look at your notebook's Software and Drivers page and noticed it originally shipped with Windows 2000 or Windows XP. So, it is unlikely that there is a specific (non-generic) driver for the sound card. However, since it worked in Windows 7 there is hope. I would like you to provide me with the hardware ID for the device and I can use that to attempt to locate driver software for you. Try the following.
Unfortunately, under Windows 8 Pro 64 bit the speaker icon remained red crossed while the Device Manager windows/tag never listed any sound device (speakers, etc.). After investigating the provided driver for this HP Pavilion zv6131us, I found that the audio driver was conceived and recognized only for 32 bit precision OS, no matter if the target machine supports 64 bit OSs, moreover he respective driver was never updated.
I recently upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy A5 to Samsung Galaxy S20. After this, when i run BBC Sounds, app, the lock screen doesn't display the same controls as on my previous phone. There was a -20s and +20s button to go back and forward when listening. These dont appear on my S20. Also, after i pause playing, when i revisit the screen, the phone lock screen is no longer showing the BBC Sounds controller, so i cant resume play. I need to open the phone, navigate back to BBC Sounds and replay.
"We've tried testing this on our end using an Android phone but we have been unable to; the playback controls remain on the lock screen as normal.
There will be some variations between various makes of device.
Having said that there are a number of similar reports online concerning a variety of different apps reporting the issue you have been experiencing, Craig. This seems to be specifically for Samsung.
It may be worth contacting Samsung to see if they can advise you further on this. I would think they would be able to advise better on the lock screen controls of their device. "
At least Qobuz and Tidal work perfectly, but Apple Music and Roon do not. Apple music resamples to 48 khz on the m9, Roon also, but without outputting any sound which is lamentable, and I how they can fix it in some update.
This will send the unmute command when the screen is locked, which might work. It will definitely work (tested) if what you want to do is just to unmute the sound when the screen is locked.
Cuttlefish is a tool that lets you do everything you want to under specific circumstances, like while locking your screen. Please see an introduction to Cuttlefish (it is very easy to use, but it would still be a lot easier with a video as an example): =U7mSfh9pqpg
Name and save macro. Tested on Oreo 8.0.This works even if your mischief maker pulls down the volume settings from status bar and changes them. Changes made to alarm level using the volume buttons will not work as the Alarm is locked to 100%. Changes made from drop down menu to Alarm settings are reversed by pressing volume rocker in any way (That's what those 4 triggers are for)
I've tried RingGuard (free on the app market). It doesn't do exactly what you (and I) probably want, but it does require you to acknowledge and accept any volume change it thinks you are making. I wish there was a widget that locked it "in" when it was set as I'd like.
RingGuard does the same thing. Both apps make you acknowledge a volume change with a pop-up. I (and others IMO) are looking for a way to set our preferred volume level, then "lock" it at the setting until we "unlock" it to make a change without all the unnecessary pop-up yes/no acknowledge prompt.....I find myself "resting" my finger on the volume rocker with a little too much pressure while in landscape mode constantly. At least if I don't acknowledge within my 2 second setting window it auto reverts.
There seem to be several of these, but I've been using Volume Control + Pro for a couple of weeks and it seems to be working very well with no problems or battery drain. I'm hard of hearing and have set all of the controls to high except for the media volume which I left unlocked so I can adjust to the volume of different songs.
Use the volume buttons on iPad to adjust the volume of songs and other media, alerts, and sound effects. (The volume buttons are either on the side or the top of your device, depending on your model.)
