Hi there. I have bought myself the mighty D50. First I was a little bit dissapointed about the patches it had, but then a friend of mine showed me this great site!
I would like to use my three lives on trying out The Great Cult of D50 Archive.

The thing is that I don't understand how to do...I have downloadet Midiox on my pc win7. Can you helpme by writing down step by step, easy to understand. How I transfer the patches/presets over to my D50?

Thanks alot. Kind regards. Kasper

Hi Kasper,

I'm Frank frtom CL-Projects and i'm selling Roland D-50 banks via my site. You can read on my site how to use MIDIOX for transfering patches to the Roland D-50. Here's the page:

I hope this helps

The description of using MidiOx, which is actually a great program, with the D5(5)0 is the theory of how it works. I have yet to meet someone for whom this actually works. The reason why dumps from D50 to / from modern computers are so very difficult is that the D50 requires a pause of at least 20 milliseconds between individual data sets as indicated in the system exclusive description of the Roland D50 advanced owner's manual. Although it should be possible to configure MidiOx to do so, I have never succeeded in actually achieving this.
