Since getting my D550 and PG1000 around a month and a half ago, I've finally been comfortable enough to start making my own patches. Do any of you guys also prefer creating original patches over using presets? I'd also love to hear some of your original patches if you'd be willing to share and would not mind sharing some of my original ones as well!

The #1 next project in my studio is going to be to start doing original patch programming.  Between the factory banks and the stuff I've found on Cult of D-50, I'm good on presets for a long, long time.  I'm really looking to push this synth's engine into more extreme directions.  I have two D-05's but the SysEx is cross compatible (so Roland says) with the D-50/550.  I've been able to easily import SysEx D-50/550 banks into the D-05 and according to the documentation it works in reverse as well.

I can do ethereal, analog emulations, and such just fine on this synth with the presets but I'm interested in open up this beast's dark side.  I'd be more than happy to share my stuff with you.  I'm hoping to get some downtime in the next few weeks to start.  I don't have a PG-1000 but I have a nice app on the iPad called MIDI Designer Pro that had a user-created D-50/550/05 editor.  I hope I can get it to play nice because the front panel is a bit of a slog but either way, new sounds must get done!  :)
