glitchy buttons

I recently started working with a David Bowie tribute band and started using my D-50. Some of the buttons require extra pressure (patch change etc) and the "write" button does not work. Any suggestions? 
I can edit freely but cannot "write". I need to save patches.
Anyone use:

Midiquest
Ctrlr D50 Editor (free)

D50 Virtual editor (Url for download is n/a)

D50 Librarian (free)

I have downloaded the free apps, so I will give them a try, I was hoping someone already has.

Keep in mind I need to "write", save patches.

Or can this be fixed. (really don't wanna go there)
