Hi,

New to the forum and I suspect I will be back as after 18 years I have finally bought myself a D50 again. Sold mine in 1999 and regretted it pretty much since.

When I sold my unit the very kind tech there did a d50 bulk dump of all of my sounds and settings....well, as I understand it that's what it was. I kept the floppy disk safe ever since then hoping that I would one day be able to restore my sounds onto a D50 once again.

I have the file but cannot fathom out how to get it back onto the unit. The file has no sysex data (according to a Mac Sysex utility), no does it have a file extension. I can't seem to change it to midi to play it out of Ableton live.

So, my question. Can anyone shed any light on how I can get this file back onto my new D50 and essentially make it my OLD one again?

I've looked and looked on many sites but everything seems focused on Sysex files.

I think this bulk dump was done into Cubase...but at the time I had no idea about any PC based recording software. I presume it was a bulk dump recorded into midi in Cubase....or perhaps straight to the floppy disk.

I've tried to solve the problem. I recognise I need expert help.

Can anyone help me with this at all?

With thanks,

Ed G
