UPPER TONE BRIGHTER THAN LOWER TONE

I’ve come to realize that the 8 voices of my Upper Tone are brighter than the 8 voices of my Lower Tone. I copied the same basic patch with filter cutoff at 100 (fully open), to Upper and Lower, and it was clear when playing that 8 voices were brighter than the other 8. I’m curious if anyone else has encountered this, and if so if a calibration procedure solved it?
