Someof our artists use modeling plugins that the rest do not need. So their maya files are constantly throwing errors that there are nodes that require a missing plugin. Is there any way to determine what nodes require said plugin? Or would i need to take care of it on the machine with the proper plugin?

I've been having odd issues with Maya 2023 and 2024 hanging / taking 30 minutes to launch for the last 2 days. I've been trying to figure out exactly what changed but so far I don't know. It feels like the problem just started randomly.

I'm on a Windows 11 x64 machine and I'm beginning to suspect there's some kind of issue there? But it's purely a hunch. Maya acts like it's going to open normally then gets stuck on "Loading plugins (cacheEvaluator)" I'm also on Student license so I don't have a way to actually contact Support (wildly alienating, btw). Here are the steps I've taken:

Please see the attached screenshots with hanging issue and System Info. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Everything on the forums says to reset Prefs to defaults and make sure GPU Drivers are up to date and neither of those fixed it.

Sorry friend To be honest I just ended up completely uninstalling the application. I'm moving over to Blender. I know that's not helpful, but at least if I timestamp with this Reply we have a record of how long the problem persisted.

Hi! One way to do this would be to add an engine_init hook to your configuration and add some code in there to check and load the plugin - just copy this hook into your config core hooks folder: -core/blob/master/hooks/engine_init.py

Hello all thank you so much for the help. Sorry it took so long to respond here. What I ended up doing was creating a maya setup tool that loads plugins sets scene units etc based on project configurations and I called that through the engine init hook.

I just downloaded Maya 2019. I've been using Maya 2018 for some time now and one feature that is critical to my workflow is the ATF Plugin. Now, in Maya 2019, the ATF plugin is simply nowhere to be found in my plugin manager and I'm wondering if I'm missing something? Attached is a screenshot of the full list of plugins that come up with the plugin manager. I'm trying to import .STP files if anyone knows of another way to do this.

Thanks for the reply! However, It's not quite working for me. Attached is a screenshot of what my import dialogue looks like (to expand all possible options I stitched two pics together in photoshop). As you can see, there is no STEP_ATF option available. Any ideas of what else I can do?

This is happening because you are on Mac OS. ATF plugin isn't currently available on Mac os versions of Maya but I've notified the developers about this so they can either fix this and/or update our documentation to not include ATF support on Mac.

Yes 2018 should handle it fine. My colleague in QA found out that the ATF plug-in was actually removed from the Mac version of 2019 due to performance issues so I believe it is planned to be added back in the future and/or some other method for these file types may work.

so same here .. clicking the load will just crash maya and i can only kill it with the task manager. tryed other versions of redshift. tryed updating the driver of the graphic card.. also i have it running normally (the same redshift) in 2 different setups with geforce 840m and 920m. but the problem occurs in the setups with gtx1650 and 1650 super (tryed 2 other different computers aswell). So am not sure if it's gpu related or not. if anyone found a solution please reply or mail me or anything (benwer...@gmail.coml)

Hi! I am answering this really late but maybe can help for some of you guys!

***Disclaimer: My computer is Windows, so I don't really know if this fix works for Mac, and, the Redhsift version I was trying to install was Redshift Free Trail ( ). , but here it goes... ***

I had same issue everybody is having trying to install the plugin, where I had the file in my computer for the plugin, but Maya just didn't recognize it....but managed to fix it, in a strange way, it may help, it may not, but worth a try.

The first thing you have to do, is, if you installed Redshift already and you are having issues, try to uninstall it and install it again BUUUT TURN OFF Windows Defender or any Antivirus, and firewall before installing Redshift... by a strange reason, windows recognizes some file of Redshift (which is the one for the plugin for Maya) as a threat, so it deletes it without noticing it. Its seems like the file is there, but by a strange reason it doesn't recognize it.. So be sure to TURN OFF antivirus or windows defender when installing Redshift.

Once you guys install it, try launching Maya and go to the Plug in Manager and load the plugin, and it should work, at least it did for me. Now, if you guys, turn on the antivirus or the windows defender on again, what will happen, is that again is going to recognize it as a threat so be sure to go to your threat history and click "ALLOW ACCESS" and it shoud not remove it again from your computer.

Hope it helps!

While this works, disabling your AV is not a good long term solution. I found that a better option is to whitelist the redshift install folder in Windows Defender (or whatever AV software you are using). This way, you can keep your AV running.

my last case of that issue was cuz of my Window account name was written in Korean.

As soon as i re-built window accounts in English, it worked.

but i bought a new computer and this issue is happening again.. ****..
