After 8 quick beta releases over the course of 12 days I now think we
have weeded out the critical bugs left over from the transition to the
new gherkin parser.
0.7.0 is ready for prime time! Thanks to everyone who helped out
fixing small issues, reporting bugs and confirming that
cucumber+gherkin works for you. It seems to be behaving well on OS X,
Linux, MRI 1.8.6, MRI 1.8.7, MRI 1.9.1 and JRuby.

gem install cucumber
Make sure you *really* read the upgrade instructions this time:

Congratulations to all who contributed to this. The speed of the new parser makes a huge difference, and more flexible support for comments and tags in feature files will make the experience of developing with Cucumber even better.
