January 21 CUGOS Meeting – Map Challenge, Elections

Hi Cugosians!

We’re getting back into the swing of regular CUGOS meetups, and we hope you’ll join us next Wednesday, January 21 from 6:00–7:30pm at UW, Bloedel Hall Room 292. After the meeting we’ll adjourn for a lovely geobeers at a local pub.

CUGOS Board Elections
We’ll hold elections at this meeting. If you’ve been thinking about getting more involved with CUGOS, this is a great opportunity to step in and help shape the coming year of events and activities.

Several members will share maps they created for the challenge and its not too late to sign up for present your own! Sign-up sheet is here.

Karsten Vennemann
Karsten will present selected work from the DecLaRe project (Decision Support for Strengthening Land Resilience in the Face of Global Challenges) in West Africa, including a decision support system for agricultural crop land suitability and related tools developed for Benin and Ghana. A demo site will be included.

More talks?? There is room on the agenda for another quick talk if anyone has something to share!
