Hi Cugosians! We are looking for 2-3 speakers for our upcoming monthly meeting on May 21st! Event details can be found
here. This will be our last meeting before summer break and our next regular meeting after May will be in September!
Speaking at Cugos is a great way to:
- Learn something new (it is okay to talk about something you are not an expert in)
- Practice public speaking skills
- Network (everyone wants to talk to the speaker!)
Talks do not have to be polished! Some ideas:
- Starting a discussion around a software or dataset you are using... or wish existed
- Give a demo of a tool you just started using
- Show us a map you made recently and how you made it
- Tell us about an interesting event you attended recently
- Practice a talk you're working on for a larger event
Talks should have something to do with open source GIS, align with our
Code of Conduct, and not be a sales pitch. We are a friendly audience. We all just want to learn more and talk about open source GIS!
If interested, add yourself to the agenda
here (if you're familiar with GitHub). Otherwise reply to this email and I can help.
