Inaugural WDS-ITO Data Prize

My partner recently started working for Ocean Networks Canada, and they are promoting this Virtual Research Environment contest: https://wds-ito.org/data-prize-competition/

I don't know much about this, beyond that ONC is part of the consortium organising it.  It's a CAD $1000 prize, which sounds to me like it's not enough to justify starting a project just to enter, but could be a nice bonus for someone who has work already in progress and just has to document it to enter.  And although it's based in Canada, it's open to anyone in the world except for residents of Quebec.
