Hi CUGOSians,
Thanks for a great February meeting and to Matt Kenny for presenting! We collected lots of good ideas at the brainstorming session, and you'll start to see us rolling some of them out in the coming months—
—starting off with March lightning talks! This was one of our top-requested meeting ideas, so let's make it happen:
- If you want to present, send me a one-sentence description (or add it to the meeting page)
- Rough drafts, open questions, quick updates to previous talks, and silly side projects are all very much encouraged! There might be an award for most whimsical topic...
- Each speaker gets five minutes max, with 1-2 questions after
- We'll leave plenty of time at the end for informal follow-ups and "geospatial feats of strength"—if you present an open question, bring your computer along so people can help you solve it
I'll send a reminder a week or so before the meeting, but everyone start mulling over your amazing presentation topics.
One other note:
CUGOS now has a LinkedIn page, and we're going to start updating it more regularly with member features and meeting recaps. Give it a follow if you're on there! I promise to only post fun/interesting stuff and not the usual LinkedIn brainrot.
Cheers,
Nat
