Here is my notes from Portland few weeks ago. I've decided to share w/
CUGOS.

=============================

Here is a quick summary of WhereCamp PDX that I attended this past
Saturday. . It’s “unconferece” this past weekend. http://www.wherecamppdx.org/about/
you can also visit Wiki section and read in more details about the
sessions and discussions.

These are some things that I participated in.:

also download OSM data (data exchange) easily.

comments from public agencies, universities and consultants on using
existing ESRI tools and other Open Source GIS tools.

Key Note speaker: James Fee
http://www.spatiallyadjusted.com/ he talked about data
interoperability, very good thing to work on by all of us.

Last session I attended was to bring digital tools to benefit public
(citizens). Thought provoking and very insightful discussion. Here are
some links that folks referred. Offering people simulation tools to
look at various things in life (development, educational,
environmental impacts etc..)

Overall it was very good and educational “unconference”.
