Hi Cugosians!
We’re looking for 2–3 speakers for our
next monthly CUGOS meeting on Wednesday, September 17th! This will be our first meeting back after the summer break, so we’re especially excited to hear what you’ve been working on!
Speaking at CUGOS is a great way to:
- Learn something new (yes, it’s totally okay to talk about something you’re still figuring out!)
- Practice public speaking in a friendly environment
- Meet other folks who love open source geospatial tools as much as you do
- Your talk doesn’t need to be polished or formal—some ideas:
- Share a tool or dataset you've been exploring
- Walk us through a map you made recently
- Start a discussion about something you'd like to learn more about
- Rehearse a talk you’re preparing for a larger event
As always, talks should relate to open source GIS in some way, align with our
Code of Conduct, and not be a sales pitch. We're a welcoming group and love learning from each other.
Interested in speaking? Add yourself to the
agenda (if you’re comfortable using GitHub), or just reply to this email and we’ll help you get set up.
Also! Don’t forget about the upcoming CUGOS Fall Fling on Friday, November 14th at the University of Washington! It’s a full day of geospatial talks, community, and fun. The Call for Proposals is now open—submit your talk idea and join the celebration!
