CUGOS Holiday GeoBeers, Map Challenge, and Elections!

Hi Cugosians!

Instead of our usual meeting this month, we'll be getting together for GeoBeers on Wednesday, December 17 at 6pm at Stoup Brewing in Capitol Hill. Feel free to wear your finest ugly sweater if you’re in the spirit!

We are also still going to do the #30DayMapChallenge as a group! If you’re new to it, the challenge is to make one map per day in November based on a list of prompts. But obviously November is over and with us you don't need to make all 30 maps, just sign up to take on one or more days, and we’ll share everyone’s maps at our January 21 meeting.

Finally, we’ll be holding board elections early next year. If you’re interested in getting more involved with CUGOS, now is a great time to start thinking about it.

So I guess the demo-ing of our 30 Day Map Challenge maps got pushed back to January 21 huh?  (I think it was originally going to happen in this month's meeting, no?)  And will each demo-er need to bring a laptop or will there be some type of shared site/page to upload them to? 

Side note:  since I joined the CUGOS Slack, I sometimes forget about this Google Group, oops ... I've now moved my bookmark for it to a place where I'll see it more often!! :-)   And thanks Hal for the reminder (via the mention in Slack of a GDAL survey that had been posted somewhere).

Anyway, will most likely see you all this Wednesday!
