This will be very interesting indeed - Arc GIS Server is joining the fun for the first time ;)
Results will also be posted online after the conference at the  http://2009.foss4g.org website.

Here are the results : http://www.slideshare.net/gatewaygeomatics.com/wms-performance-shootout
Too bad that the ArcGIS Server team later withdrew from the contest...

Thanks for the link Karsten. And now for a rant.

Next time graphs are published, it would be good to label the axes.
What exactly are we seeing on these? Throughput vs. number of
threads? Also, how about a summary slide at the end of the
presentation that actually summarizes the performance in all
categories? The only written summary is for T1 lake polygons? C'mon
people.

Roger,

To be fair, I believe those slides were produced on-the-fly by Jeff at the shootout. I am sure over time there will be more in-depth analysis done and finer grain reporting on the results. For now, I am just glad that the event took place and that the initial results looked quite good. I personally like to see preliminary results sooner than later... even if they lack polish.
