Hello Cugosians!

Have any of you managed to get access to the underlying data in the Strava Global Heat Map? I am interested in using it as a proxy for usage intensity of recreational facilities/trails on the Olympic Peninsula. I applied for access to the data via Strava Metro a couple of months ago but haven't heard anything, not even an auto-response.

If Strava turns out to be a dead end, have any of you had success using similar data (Runkeeper, Google Fit, etc)?

Thanks!

Matt

Matt,
I believe it's still available for OSM to use as a heat map, which definitely shows usage based on the density. Instructions are on the wiki at https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Strava which provides the url to add the overlay. Not sure if it will work for you. I can't right now, but later I can see if it still works for me.

Best,
Clifford
