All pages render correctly except homepage in IE9

I have added cufon to my Joomla website and it works perfectly except
when viewing the homepage in IE9 (the other pages render correctly in
IE9). I am using version 1.09i and I have tried forcing it to behave
like IE8 but I am still getting whitespace instead of the headers.

suggestions I would appreciate it.
