I tried pre-loading the map tiles from RWGPS for a 200k brevet route.  It has loaded approximately 1/3 of the total tiles in an hour using my home wireless on my Samsung Galaxy S4.  This rate of downloading seems rather slow.

Where are the map tiles stored?  I did not see an option to direct the storage location, I'd like to store them in my external SD card.  Also, are these tiles useful for future routes in the same map location? It is possible to build a database that is usable in the future? Or will the map tiles need to be downloaded for every trip?

Thanks - Jim #3 on RWGPS

Jim,
Right now they are stored on the "Device Storage" sometimes referred to a "USB Storage" on some phones. But not the SD card. Future versions will have the option to store the maps on the SD or Internal storage. Check in /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.matrangola.cuesheet.ui/files/maps in your S4. Sometimes the root name is different for other devices.

Yes it is a little slow but once it we have an area it will apply for multiple routes. Even those that overlap. For example, if you had downloaded a map for a route in the Northwest part of town then another map that included both the Northeast and Northwest part of town, you it won't re-download the Northwest tiles for the second map.

Great, thanks Geoff.  I will look forward to using my downloaded map.
