Hi all,

I am trying to compile CITK, first I need to install SDK. However, I
could not add the extra libraries because I do not have the superuser
right. Is here any solution for this problem?

Regarding CITK, when I try to compile it, I always got the same error
said:

CUDA SDK libcutil.a not found. Check the SDK root directory is set
correctly and that the SDK has built
correctly.

in my SDK/bin/lib, I have a libcutil_x86_64.a, even if I set the
library to be lib not lib64. How could I solve this problem?

I am totally new of CITK, urgently waiting for your reply.
Thx in advance.

Mengqiu :)

Hey,

CITK is no longer being actively developed, and as far as I know the original devs have no plans to do so.  As far as using it right away, you might have to change a few things to get it to work with the latest ITK and CUDA.  I don't have any useful advice as to how you might do so though, other than to check the include files.

If you're interested in taking up development, I recommend you fork this project, otherwise maybe try another project.

Sorry I can't be more help, I'm travelling at the moment so this is as much as I can do.

Good luck,

Luke

Mengqui Tian,

What version of the SDK, Toolkit and ITK are you attempting to use with CITK?

Also, can you confirm you are using 86 or 64 bit versions of the toolkit and sdk?

Cheers,
Phil

Hi Phil,

The SDK version is 4.0.17, Toolkit is 4.0( it is installed by our administrator, my system is Opensuse, 86x_64, so I guess the toolkit should be for 64bit version) and ITK is 3.20, which I got from the Git depository.
After compiling the SDK, I could not find libcutil.a but libcutil_x86_64.a, and I followed the suggestion of CITK an architecture and examples of CUDA enabled ITK filters that specify the location of CUDA SDK explicitly by set CUDA_CUT_LIBRARY=NVIDIA_GPU_Computing_SDK/C/lib, where libcutil_x86_64.a locates. After setting like this, here is no problem of compiling CITK, however, when I try to make CITK, here are a lot of warnings that: xxx"(a lot of files) requests linking to directory "~/NVIDIA_GPU_Computing_SDK".
My college had compiled the CITK also use the computer in our lab without any warning. It is very strange. I would talk with him about this later in this week.

Hope these information would help.
Thanks a lot for your reply.

Sincerely,
Mengqiu

Hi Phil,

Do you have any idea about the problem? My college is also new to CITK. He did not know where those warnings come from, he just compiled the CITK without any warning.

Regards,

Mengqiu

Hi all,
My problem have been solved.
Since I have a 64 bits system, I need to explicitly set the CUDA_CUT_LIBRARY as SDK/bin/lib/ibcutil_x86_64.a
Then everything would be fine.
Thx a lot for help. :)

Regards,
Mengqiu

Hi Mengqui,

I'm glad it worked out for you. It has been a common problem for users, not specifying a uniform standard for their libraries. A few days ago another user had the same problem regarding the sdk and their version of visual studio.

If you need any more help, don't hesitate to contact the mailing list.

Cheers,
Phil
