Dear All:
On the behalf of CUChE Alumni Association, we would like to inform you that we have achieved a Major Milestone. We all need to Congratulate ourselves.... and definitely we need to do more.. and sure we can do more...
During 2012 December Reunion, two Action Items were taken for implementation:
1. Book Bank- Offer Free Books to all Students - As decided phased implementation, Books have been purchased and distributed among the First Semester Students. So, ALL First Semester Chemical Engineering students got ALL the required text book! This is a great achievement!! Please join me in congratulation all the Faculties for selecting, short listing and getting quotes, purchasing the books, and finally distributing the books to the students.
Dr Parameswar De (our Parameswar da) also informed that next batch of books for fifth semester will be purchased by February, 2014. We would like to specifically convey our thanks to Dr Debasis Sarkar who meticulously listed all the books required for all semester and cost. This helped the committee for phased implementation. We have reached one step (four to go...need your help......)
2. Simulation Laboratory with state of the art Software: To train our students, action items was taken to procure a state of the art simulation software. I was involved in the negotiation with Invensys. It is great pleasure to inform you that CU ChE Department has got full suite of Invensys software, with a token amount of money compared to the actual cost for commercial version. Please note, it is the same as commercial version, but academically priced. After several talk in India, in US and in Canada, we got an excellent "deal" from Invensys. We are excited to inform you that it is now a reality that we have Simulation Laboratory in the Department !! We have SimSci Software which include PRO/II, VISUAL FLOW, HEXTRAN, DATACON, INPLANT, SIM4ME Portal, ROMeo Process Optimization.... For the present students put your full effort to maximize this opportunity... All Alumni, if you are an expert in any one or more of the listed software, or your group is involved using any of those software we need your help..... please send us your contact details....We need to assign some guidance to the students by assigning them industrial projects.
We will keep it brief (next mail will be really short!!) and end it here.... waiting for your feedback, next phase implementation and please come forward with your ideas.... we would like to hear from you...

Presently I am working in Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and placed in Process Design Engineering Cell of Refinery Head Quarter Office, New Delhi.
I am happy to know that CU Chem Engg department got license of Pro-II.
On this regard, I like to share you that I can give hands on training free of cost on refinery unit simulation like Crude Distillation Unit, Vacuum Distillation Unit, Naphtha Splitting facilities etc. to the students of CU using Pro-2
