A clarion call ……..

Time has come to join the silos of various batches of Chemical Engineering (Applied Chemistry) Alumni of Calcutta University, having various groups of e-mails, and other communication mode used  amongst Intra-Year alumni. Let us join together….

You may know that we will be celebrating overall Reunion2012 and Silver Jubilee (25 years-quarter century!!)  for  Batch’87 pass out (Academic year 1986).

Dates: 22-23 December, 2012

Venue: CUChE Department

You will be amazed to see that we have collected 2582 previous alumni, and we have documented their names! I have spent enormous time to bring it to this stage… now I need your help and support.  To make the connection easier, we have our website

Also, you may have a group for your batch. Please share the group information (like group name, Year etc), and let us connect all the silos together to give a synergistic impact – which will be large than the sum-total.

Please find the attached spreadsheet foryour review, and feel free to use, or use to put all your batchmate's info. Well, spreadsheet can take you upto some point. What we are trying to do:

We are planning for major development; make our institute an institute of international repute.  I have tried to contact most of the alumni abroad, whose telephone number I could collect.  We need your open mind to provide input how to make it.

We need your help: Volunteering help, advisory board help, and financial help. We are planning to set-up Modeling & Simulation lab equipped with Simulation software amongst various other items.

Dear All:

I talked to Jayanta (Das Mahapatra) last week after we were disconnected since 1989- that is brief 24 years!! We reconnected in a snap!

Jayanta volunteered for a sum, and as I mentioned about the target amount, Jayanta did not hesitate an iota, and not only that he Fed-Ex mailed the check from Scotland so that I can carry it! We need more volunteer donors like this....Please show your support for the institute that is helping us to established ourselves.  Some are more successful - some are somehow managing. Our request to all of those, please come with open mind, and -Give Give Give- for the place that have made our base, and placed us where we are today!

Jayanta,

Betal had a doubt whether we (CuChEAA reunion committee) have invited all of our teachers? next question - "How have we thought of gracing them all in this occasion, like some good Kashmir Shawls etc.  time is very short!!!

On fund raising I talked to Saumen (London), he will be happy to contribute on this, he is coming to Kolkata on 2nd day of reunion and do the needful. 

I may have a problem of cheque issue, electronic transfer no issue. please let me know whether we are exercising this option, are we supposed to use the same bank A/C (mentioned for life membership)? i can do before i depart Singapore by Sunday?
