Greetings Pack 14!

I hope you all have had a wonderful summer!  Incredibly, summer is now winding down and many of our boys are already back in school.  There is sadness about how quickly it feels another summer has come and gone.  But there is also excitement about getting back to our routines, cooler temps, and of course ... SCOUTING!!!

Please mark your calendars for two fall kick-off events:
  • Our annual Rocket Round-up to start our Scout year is Monday, August 27th, begining at 6:00 p.m.
  • Our first regular Pack meeting will be Monday, September 10th, starting promptly at 7:00 p.m.
All of our events unless noted otherwise are again at Christ Community Church on Hillsboro Road, our wonderful sponsor and facility provider.

For the Rocket Round-up, please take advantage of our Rocket Building Workshop the Saturday before the launch, August 25th, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.  The only cost should be $2 per engine (or for each launch).

You are receiving this e-mail because you were in our Pack last year and are on our roster.  If you are no longer in the area or are otherwise not going to be involved this year, please let us know.  If there are any updates to your contact information, etc., please let us know that as well.

A key purpose behind our Rocket Round-up is recruitment - getting new boys and their families involved in Pack 14.  Please invite any boys that you know to come check us out.  A flyer about our Rocket Round-up and with my contact information is attached that you can forward or print out and hand to anyone that you think would be interested.  We will have informational meetings for new parents/families during the Rocket Round-up on August 27th and for all parents during our first Pack meeting on September 10th.  Please mark your calendars and plan to attend and bring a friend!

We look forward to seeing you soon!  If you have any questions whatsoever, please e-mail or call.

Yours in Scouting,

Jeromye Sartain

I am writing with one correction from my previous e-mail below about the cost of the rockets.  The kits will be $5 each as in past years, which includes one engine/launch.  As previously stated, additional engines/launches will be $2 each, if there is time and interest.

I apologize for any confusion.
