Hello everyone -

I am writing with a few more details specifically about the Rocket Building Workshop this Saturday morning, August 25th:
  • First, again please note that we'll be starting at 9:00 a.m.; there will be an overview about the build presented at that time with explanations about the process for the two different kits that will be availble this year, so plan to be there promptly at 9:00.
  • There will be no food provided during the Workshop (we're going to be all business ;-), so please plan accordingly.
  • The Workshop will take place in the Fellowship Hall at the back of the CCC main building.
  • And we will not be able to accept credit cards for the rocket kits, so please bring cash or check.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions.  See you Saturday!

Subject: Pack 14 Rocket Round-up!
To: cubp...@googlegroups.com

Greetings Pack 14!

As this glorious weather ushers us into the fall spirit, I remind you that we are now a week away from our fall kick-off event - the ROCKET ROUND-UP is NEXT MONDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 27th!  Things will get started at 6:00 p.m. on the north lawn of Christ Community Church.

The rocket building workshop is this Saturday, August 25th, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, also at Christ Community.  Please again note that the kits will be $5 each, which includes one engine/launch (additional engines/launches will be $2 each as time/daylight permits and supplies last).  You will really want to have your rocket built before Monday - not something to do "the night of."  So, if you will not be able to make it to the workshop but do want to participate in the Round-up, please let us know so that we can make arrangements with you to get you the needed kit(s).

Remember that this is a great event to invite others who may be interested in Scouting (in fact, that's the whole point - in other packs, the event is only for new/prospective Scouts, not returning Scouts).  Please be thinking about who you can recruit to keep our momentum going and have other boys in our area experience the fun and safe place for learning and life-long friendships that our boys are already enjoying.  FYI, there will be a brief informational meeting for parents of new Scouts during the Round-up on the 27th, likely starting at around 6:45 p.m., so anyone you invite will have that opportunity to get their questions answered (you don't have to have all the answers, just invite them to come!).

See you all this weekend and this coming Monday night!

Yours in Scouting,

Jeromye Sartain
