Hello there,

  Can windows be installed on cubie-board. Is it possible to load XP/98 on it.

You can run Windows in qemu system emulation of a PC, but it will be
really really slow.

OK thanks. Can u pls tell me of some other interesting (and simple) activities using cubieboard. I am new to single board computing.

Browsing, video playing, audio playing, file server, print server, web server, home automation, GPS display, robot controller, wifi hotspot, firewall, distributed compute server (you'll need more than one for this).  Basically, just about anything you would use linux for now, except for tasks that require massive amounts of memory or compute power.

Windows a a virtual machine (on top of KVM)

In a way this might be nice, though why limit yourself to Windows and it's troyans (or Android with its apps madness) when you can run Debian with a MASSIVE repository.

If you are new to GNU/Linux then first play a bit with VirtualBox and a virtual Ubuntu environment to get an idea what you can expect.
